Detective Coating, LLC
Detective Coating has been operating since December 2009, focused on the Mitsubishi community doing parts such as intercooler piping and valve covers. We were initially located in Saint Mary's, PA where we honed our skills on the powder and ceramic coating business to give each customer a superior finish. We moved the shop to South Chesterfield, VA (Just South of Richmond, near Colonial Heights) in 2013 with a 1,500sqft facility.
Detective Coating offers custom powder coating to our customers, which is not your typical coating job. We're able to do custom masking, fades, multi-color lettering on parts with raised letters, stenciling, and continue to implement new finishes to the powder coating market.
At Detective Coating, we take pride in offering the best finishes at an affordable price to the customer. We take the extra time needed on each part to ensure the highest quality finish will be presented to the customer to last for years to come.
In 2013, we upgraded almost all of the shop equipment with a brand new top of the line spray booth & powder coating curing oven in an effort to continuously get parts done better and faster. In June, Detective Coating was featured in Gearbox Magazine 1.06, which can be ordered here. In August, we were interviewed at the 21st Annual DSM/EVO/GT-R Shootout in Norwalk, Ohio for a segment in their DVD, which can be ordered here.
In 2014, we have upgraded to a Gema Optiflex 2 Powder Coat System, added another powder coating curing oven, obtained a larger media blasting room, and have the capability to powder coat larger pieces with our new oven extensions.
In 2015, we moved to a 3,500 sqft location in Midlothian, VA where we have added a 10x10x20 sandblasting booth, blast pot and 40hp rotary screw compressor. Also added is a tig welder, tire removal, mount and dismount and forklift to handle larger deliveries.
In 2016, we've added another full time employee along with a brand new Ingersoll Rand Rotary screw compressor to keep up with our air demands.
In 2017, we added a 2nd full time employee and built a 6'x6'x8' oven to handle larger parts.
In 2019, we have added a much larger Spray Booth to accommodate large batch jobs to insure we have a clean spraying area that can contain a large volume of wasted powder. We have also added a 17' box truck so we can now offer pickup and delivery
In 2021, we have made many new additions. We've added a second spray booth and Gema powdercoating gun, a large dust collector for our blasting room and have added some really great employees during the hardest time to hire in my career. We've expanded into the unit besides us and now have a total of 7,000sqft of operating space. We have also obtained our Federal Firearms License to be able to offer Cerakote on your gun. Another vehicle lift was added so that we're able to store 2 vehicles inside when dropping off your vehicle.
In 2022, we have added a 6'x6'x18' oven to handle all larger production/commercial coatings.
